To the students from Escola Parque, I would like to say "Welcome!" I look forward to getting to know you and to sharing with you. Our class, as you have probably noticed is very small. There are nine seniors this year.
This is an exciting year because of elections. In 2009, Escola Parque celebrated with us when our first African American president was elected. He is up for re-election this year in November. This is an exciting time in the United States. A president can only be elected to two four-year terms. We invite you to follow this election with us.
Each of them is making a blog of their own and attaching it to this blog. It may take a few days for everyone to make their blog, but they are receiving grades for their ability to use blogs as a form of communication. They will attach their blogs to this blog so that you can see what they think and what they do. Please feel free to comment on the individual blogs.

To my dear friend and colleague, Professor Tyrone Santiago, it is good to be with you and your classes once again. A new year. As always, I cherish this collaboration.
